Mira-Bhainder :- Under the guidance of the Municipal Commissioner, Mr. Sanjay Shreepatrao Katkar, the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation is all set to kickstart the “Cleanliness is Service” campaign on October 1, 2023, with a one-hour voluntary work session.
To make this campaign a resounding success, the Municipal Commissioner has called upon the citizens of Mira Bhayandar to actively participate and contribute to the cause. This initiative is part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 2.0, organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India, from September 15, 2023, to October 2, 2023.
As a part of the “Cleanliness is Service” campaign, a one-hour cleanliness drive will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on October 1, 2023, under the guidance of Mr. Sanjay Shreepatrao Katkar, the Municipal Commissioner, along with Additional Municipal Commissioner Sambhaji Panpatte and Deputy Municipal Commissioner Ravi Pawar.
Responsibilities for organizing and managing the cleanliness drive have been delegated to various authorities and municipal employees, as per the instructions of the Municipal Commissioner. During this initiative, special emphasis will be given to identifying areas with excessive litter and ensuring their complete cleanliness. Participants are encouraged to take selfies while contributing to the cause and upload them to the official campaign website, https://swachhtahiseva.com.
Furthermore, the campaign promotes the responsible use of plastic by discouraging the use of plastic bottles, carry bags, disposable cutlery, and similar items. Participants are urged to collect all waste and deposit it in designated municipal vehicles for proper disposal.
The success of the “Cleanliness is Service” program relies heavily on the active involvement of local residents, community representatives, government officials, school/college students, and journalists. To encourage participation, the campaign will distribute essentials like gloves, aprons, brooms, and garbage bags.
The collected waste will be transported in municipal vehicles and disposed of appropriately. Mr. Sanjay Shreepatrao Katkar, the Municipal Commissioner, and his team are leading this initiative, which aims to make Mira Bhayandar a litter-free city.
The “Cleanliness is Service” campaign invites citizens to join hands on a specific date and time, promoting community involvement and a cleaner, healthier city.
