Navi Mumbai :- In a momentous celebration of culture and spirituality, the grand entrance of the enchanting Govardhani Mata Temple in Navi Mumbai was inaugurated with great pomp and fervor. The temple, nestled in Belapur village, holds immense historical and spiritual significance for the region and has been a focal point for worship for countless devotees.
Belapur Assembly Member MLA Shri. Mandatai Mhatre, who has been closely associated with the temple and its festivities, expressed her joy at the stunning transformation of the temple entrance. The entrance now features captivating idols of gods and goddesses, bringing a new level of aesthetic splendor to the sacred site.
The auspicious inauguration was conducted by Namumpa Commissioner Shri. Rajesh Narvekar, who marked the occasion with his blessings. Joining in the celebration were notable dignitaries, including City Engineer Shri. Sanjay Desai, Deputy Commissioner Shri. Somnath Potre, and Executive Engineer Shri. Arvind Shinde, among others.
Municipal Commissioner Shri. Rajesh Narvekar shared his enthusiasm, highlighting that the newly adorned entrance will allow devotees and onlookers to connect with the divine regularly, as it is now visible even from his office.
This remarkable entrance is part of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s initiative to preserve the identity of 29 villages within the region. It was conceptualized by Mandatai Mhatre and has been brought to life by skilled sculptors from Madurai. This southern-style temple entrance, situated on the main road leading to Govardhani Mata Temple, serves as a beacon for devotees, ensuring they can easily locate the sacred place of worship.
Adorning the entrance are magnificent statues of deities like Ram, Laxman, Sita, Hanuman, Shankar, Parvati, Ganesha, Vishnu, Shri Krishna, Garuda, Elephant, Conch, Chakra, and more. The entrance, standing at an impressive 6 meters in height and 12.5 meters in length from the road, has not only enhanced the temple’s beauty but has also added to the overall charm of the area.
Known as the “Queen Necklace” of Navi Mumbai, this stunning temple entrance stands proudly in front of the iconic Municipal Headquarters building near Palm Beach, drawing the attention of all who pass by. It serves as a testament to the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of the region and is set to become a cherished landmark for generations to come.
