Cleanliness Run Event Organized Across Palghar District

Palghar :- From September 15th to October 2nd, 2023, the “Swachhta Hi Seva (SHS)” initiative, part of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), was set to be held in the Palghar district of Maharashtra, India. In line with this, a “Cleanliness Run” event was organized on September 24th, 2023, at the Palghar Panchayat Samiti.

Dignitaries including Mr. Rajendra Gaavith, the District Collector; Mr. Govind Bodke, Chief Executive Officer; Mr. Bhanudas Palve, Chief Executive Officer (Rural); Mr. Ramesh Shedke, Tehsildar; Shaila Kolhekar, President of the Panchayat Samiti; Vinaya Patil, Member of the District Council; and Chandrashekhar Jagatap, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Rural) were present at the event.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from various stakeholders, including Gram Sevaks, Asha Workers, Anganwadi Workers, Self-Help Group Women, and Health Workers. Their collective effort demonstrated a strong commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.

Mr. Rajendra Gaavith emphasized the importance of cleanliness in both urban and rural areas, highlighting its role in improving public health. The event commenced at Kamala Park near Hutaatma Chowk and concluded at Palghar Panchayat Samiti.

A similar “Cleanliness Run” event was organized in other parts of the district. In Dahanu Taluka, Jyoti Patil, a member of the Zilla Parishad, Atul Paraske, Project Coordinator of Kurada Panchayat Samiti, and Pallavi Saste, Group Development Officer, all took part. Meanwhile, in Vasai Taluka, the event was attended by Rajesh Patil, the MLA of Boisar constituency; Ashok Patil, President of the Panchayat Samiti; Shubhangi Bendre, Panchayat Samiti Member, and many others, including students.

The event at Jawhar witnessed the participation of the Panchayat Samiti President, Group Development Officer, and other officials. In Vikramgad Gram Panchayat Onde, residents, youth, Panchayat employees, and various government officials came together for the “Cleanliness Run” event.

In Khaniwali Gram Panchayat in Wada, Sarpanch, Deputy Sarpanch, Group Development Officer, Extension Officer, District Coordinator Sevika, Self-Help Group Women, and Health Workers actively participated in the “Cleanliness Run” program.

Overall, the “Cleanliness Run” program saw substantial participation from Gram Sevaks, teachers, Asha Workers, Anganwadi Workers, Self-Help Group Women, Health Workers, and Panchayat employees. Their collective efforts conveyed a powerful message of cleanliness and hygiene to the community.

This initiative aligns with the broader goals of the Swachh Bharat Mission, promoting cleanliness and hygiene in rural areas, contributing to the betterment of public health and overall well-being.
