Navi Mumbai, August 26, 2023 :— In a significant move towards promoting an environment-friendly festival, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has declared the exemption of mandap fees and deposit amounts for the upcoming Shree Ganeshotsav celebrations. This decision, taken in accordance with the instructions of Chief Minister of Maharashtra State, Mr. EKNATH SHINDE, aims to facilitate a more accessible and inclusive celebration for all.
The renowned public Shree Ganeshotsav, scheduled to span from September 19th to 28th, 2023, is set to resonate with a newfound vibrancy as the Ganeshotsav mandals within the jurisdiction of NMMC enjoy this favorable reprieve. The announcement was made by NMMC Commissioner, Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, following a special meeting chaired by Eknath Shinde, where the decision was sanctioned.
The gesture has been motivated by the call for an eco-friendly observance of the festival, reflecting the broader aspirations of the local community. The waiver of fees and deposit amounts is also attributed to the advocacy efforts of Belapur Vidhan Sabha member, A. Mr. Mandatai Mhatre, along with various representatives and office bearers of Ganeshotsav mandals, who have been echoing this sentiment for a greener celebration.
Taking a step towards modernization and convenience, NMMC has introduced an e-service computer system to streamline the permission process for setting up pavilions. Pursuant to Public Interest Litigation No. 173 / 2010 and in compliance with directives from the High Court, this online application system was initiated on August 19th. All Ganeshotsav mandals are expected to obtain the requisite license through this online platform, with no associated charges. However, it is emphasized that permission remains an indispensable prerequisite.
The online permission system, accessible at www.rtsnmmconline.com, has been active since August 19th and will remain operational until ten days before Ganeshotsav. Mandals seeking pavilion construction permissions are urged to make use of this user-friendly feature. Municipal Commissioner Mr. Rajesh Narvekar extends his warm invitation to all Ganeshotsav Mandals in the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation area to partake in this opportunity and celebrate an Eco Friendly Ganeshotsav with unwavering enthusiasm, all while demonstrating their commitment to environmental preservation.
