Palghar, 15th August, 2023 :- In a significant development aimed at enhancing maternal and child health, Minister Aditi Tatkare, responsible for Women and Child Development, officially inaugurated the Anandibai Joshi Health Check-up Camp. The camp was organized by the Women and Child Development Department of Zilla Parishad Palghar, commemorating Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan.
Minister Aditi Tatkare expressed her satisfaction that the benefits of the health camp were extending to all the Anganwadi helpers and workers. She highlighted the pivotal role Anganwadi workers play in ensuring the well-being of expectant mothers and newborns. Emphasizing their dedication, she praised their efforts during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic when they worked alongside the healthcare system.
The event took place at the Collectorate Palghar Planning Bhawan, chaired by Minister Aditi Tatkare. During her address, she emphasized the significance of the health camp and urged all women to take advantage of it, considering the vital role they play in society.
The camp aimed to address various issues including maternal health and the welfare of expectant mothers. In her address, Minister Aditi Tatkare spoke about the ongoing discussions regarding the increase in funding for the repair of Anganwadi buildings. She also highlighted other considerations such as converting mini Anganwadis into full-fledged centers and increasing the rent of leased Anganwadi buildings.
Several dignitaries were present at the event, including Zilla Parishad President Prakash Nikam, District Collector Govind Bodke, and various Members of Parliament and Legislative Assembly. Speaking at the event, Commissioner of Women and Child Development Department Rubal Aggarwal congratulated the Women and Child Development Department and the entire district team for their efforts in organizing the program.
In an effort to bridge the gaps in healthcare and welfare, the event saw the distribution of appointment letters and certificates to beneficiaries of various schemes by Anganwadi Sevaka. Additionally, Minister Aditi Tatkare visited Anganwadis, interacted with expectant and lactating mothers, and distributed baby care kits.
The program was executed under the guidance of District Program Officer Pravin Bhavsar, with the unwavering support of supervisors and Child Development Project Officers.
