Government Official Caught Accepting Bribe: Anti-Corruption Department’s Successful Operation in Hingoli

Hingoli :- In a significant breakthrough, the Anti-Corruption Department in Hingoli successfully apprehended Elose JamilKhan MahmadKhan Pathan, a 70-year-old Technical Assistant employed by the Maharashtra State Employment Guarantee Scheme Department. Mr. Pathan was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 15,000 from aggrieved citizens who had filed complaints against him.

The complainant, along with two other farmers, had been sanctioned wells under the Maharashtra Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme 2022-2023 as part of the Ahilyabai Holkar Irrigation Scheme. Despite having completed the construction of the wells, they alleged that Mr. Pathan had demanded bribes of Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 6,000 from each farmer in exchange for processing the final installment of their bills.

The Anti-Corruption Department received a written complaint and swiftly initiated an operation. Acting on the complaint, officers from the department collaborated under the guidance of Shri. Rajkumar Shinde, Superintendent of Police, Anti-Corruption Department, Nanded Examination, Nanded. Shri. Anil Katke, Deputy Superintendent of Police, along with Shri. Prafulla Ankushkar, Inspector of Police, Shri. Vinayak Jadhav, Inspector of Police, and other officers, executed a meticulously planned operation.

During the operation, Mr. Pathan was caught accepting the bribe from the complainant. The evidence collected by the Anti-Corruption Department substantiates the allegations, and a case has been registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, at Police Station Hingoli City Distt.
