Mumbai :- In a bid to expedite the process of constructing telecommunication infrastructure in the state, the Government of Maharashtra’s General Administration Department has announced a significant change in the approval process for pending applications on the Mahasanchanar portal. Circular outlines the new approach, aiming to streamline the approval process for telecom projects.
Under the new directive, applications pending on the Mahasanchanar portal for 30 days or more will now be subject to “Deemed Approval,” as decided in a meeting presided over by the honorable Chief Secretary. This marks a reduction from the previous threshold of 60 days. The move comes as an effort to accelerate the deployment of telecommunication infrastructure across the state.
The circular emphasizes that the provision of “Deemed Approval” will be applied automatically to all pending applications that have not received any action within the stipulated timeframe. Additionally, the concerned authorities are instructed to collect the relevant fees associated with the application and issue the necessary permits along with appropriate instructions.
To ensure transparency and accessibility, the circular, bearing reference number 202308111815194807, can be accessed on the official website of the Government of Maharashtra: www.maharashtra.gov.in. The circular holds digital signatures to authenticate its issuance.
The Deputy Secretary, Mr. Chandanashive, stated that this change in approach will significantly expedite the process of approving telecommunication infrastructure projects, facilitating better connectivity and communication for the residents of Maharashtra. The decision aligns with the government’s commitment to enhancing digital connectivity across the state.
This directive applies to various levels of administration, including municipal corporations, zilla parishads, and all other relevant authorities. It is expected to not only speed up the approval process for telecom projects but also contribute to the overall development and modernization of telecommunication infrastructure in Maharashtra.
