Bhayander :- In a recent development, Bhayander’s revenue department have successfully recovered a penalty of ₹44,94,400 from Shreeji EPC Pvt. Ltd., a prominent construction company, for unauthorized soil and mud filling near the local fire station during road construction. The recovery of the substantial penalty comes after an investigation prompted by a complaint filed by right-to-information activist Krishna Gupta.
The incident revolves around a road development project undertaken by Shreeji EPC Pvt. Ltd. near the fire station in Bhayander West. While the contractor had been granted permission to proceed with the work under a subordinate mineral permit, Gupta’s complaint alleged that the company had directly undertaken soil and mud filling without proper authorization.
Upon receiving the complaint, Talathi Sapna Chaure initiated an in-depth investigation into the matter. A comprehensive Panchnama was conducted at the site to assess the extent of the unauthorized soil and mud filling. Following the thorough examination, a detailed report was submitted to the Tehsildar’s office, outlining the findings and recommending appropriate action.
As a result of the investigation, the revenue department took swift action by imposing a penalty of ₹44,94,400 on Shreeji EPC Pvt. Ltd. The penalty accounts for the environmental and regulatory violations committed during the road construction project. This proactive approach underscores the Upper Tehsildar’s commitment to upholding environmental regulations and maintaining transparency in its dealings.
