Thane : Compared to the number of active cases of corona in India, the number of people recovering has increased. People are telling this news of relief. But is it really news of relief ? Let’s find it out.
The total figure of corona infected people in India has reached 2,97,535. Of these, 1,47,194 people have been cured of this disease. At the same time 8498 people have died. At present, the total number of active cases of corona in the country is 1,41,842, which is less than the recovered ones. But do you know who are these active cases? Does an active case mean that those who are undergoing treatment or who are corona positive have been isolated in their homes. If your answer is yes, then you are wrong.
Explaination : In India definition of Active cases means people who have been infected with corona within the last 14 days. Apart from this, the World Health Organization ie WHO also says that the active cases are those cases which have come in contact with a corona infected person within the last 14 days or their Covid-19 test have come up positive within the last 14 days. That is, at present, the number of active cases in the country is 1,41,842, which is the number of people infected in the last 14 days. And now if we talk about the people who have been cured of the disease, then these figures are there, since this disease has spread in the country and people are going to hospitals for treatment. It simply means that we and you are expressing some satisfaction on seeing the figures that the number of active cases is less than those who are recovered, in fact those figures are more scary.
Therefore, there is no need to be happy on the fact that the number of cured people is more than the active case in the country. This happiness or this satisfaction can be expressed only when the number of people who recover every day for the next 14 days is more and the number of new cases is less. But right now it is reverse. Now take the example of June 11. According to the Union Health Ministry, on June 11, there were 9,996 new cases in the country. And the number of people discharged from hospitals on June 11 was 5,826. This means that even now the rate of infection is higher than the recovery rate.
Now since the definition of active case itself says that those cases which have been infected with corona in the last 14 days will be considered as active cases. So in this context, the recovery rate also has to be seen. Now, if the recovery rate is better than the infection rate in the next 14 days, then it can be assumed that the effect of corona is decreasing slightly in India. But right now it looks far-fetched.
Apart from this, the guidelines for discharge from the hospital are also affecting the recovery rate. Many states have made guidelines that asymptomatic patients or corona patients with no symptoms are also being discharged from the hospital and are being asked to remain quarantined at home. But such asymptomatic patients are being counted among the recovered patients in the figures. In such a situation, to say that the number of people cured by infection has increased more than the total infected, it will be a little hasty.
