A man committed suicide by jumping under the rear tyres of a moving truck on National Highway 353 in Nuapada town on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Raju Sabar, a resident of Mahuabhata village in the district.

The CCTV camera installed in front of Nuapada Police Station has captured the whole incident in which Sabar crossed the road and waited for the truck. It was when the truck passed him he jumped under the vehicle and got crushed under the rear tyres.

While the incident has sparked sensation in the area and social media is giving all talks related to covid lockdown unemployment but preliminary investigation by police revealed that Sabar was suffering from mental illness.
